Transcend launches antivirus USB flash drive
New Delhi: Transcend and Trend Micro has entered into an agreement to preinstall Trend Micro's USB security software on JetFlash V85 USB flash drive. "USB flash drives have gained immense acceptance in India however, there is very little awareness amidst the users regarding protection against threats like auto run malware being spread through malicious websites. Our new JetFlash V85 USB flash drive preloaded with advanced Trend Micro USB security software will prove to be a boon to our customers," said Austin Huang, Regional Head - Sales, SAARC and APAC, Transcend. Trend Micro USB security is a unique software program specially developed to protect against malicious content in files transferred to USB flash drives. Upon finding threats, the software alerts the user and moves all dangerous files to a hidden quarantine folder. When the JetFlash V85 is plugged into a computer with internet access, Trend Micro USB security will automatically download and install the latest security updates directly onto the drive. The JetFlash V85 will have preloaded 90-day trial version of Trend Micro USB security. Transcend JetFlash V85 USB flash drive with Trend Micro USB security software comes with three years of warranty. It is available at a price of 1000 (2GB), 1200 (4GB) and 1900 (8GB).
