Traditional Indian Beverages That Will Make You Slurp!

Masala Chai:

The very well-known Masala Chai is a flavored tea beverage. It is made by brewing black tea with a mixture of aromatic Indian spices and herbs. Originating in South Asia, the brew has gained worldwide popularity, becoming a facet in many coffee and tea houses. Although conventionally prepared by decoction, retail versions include tea bags for infusion, instant powdered mixtures, and concentrates. This "chai" is made with cardamom, ginger, and the other common spices.

Feni:

Feni is a very popular spirit produced exclusively in Goa. Classified as ‘country liquor', the drink is not allowed to be sold outside the state. The two types of Feni that are available are cashew feni and coconut feni. A thumb rule is that the aroma of the beverage is indicative of a carefully crafted feni.  The Feni consumed in South Goa is usually of higher alcohol content (43-45 percent) as compared to the Feni produced in North Goa.
