Top 10 Enterprise Priorities for CIOs in 2013

#9 Security:

At number 9, it’s the security platform, improving its priority rating by one, compared to the previous year. But according to Gartner and other analysts, it’s a surprise to see security fall as low as number 9 because the past couple of years IT world saw some of the worst data breaches ever, and still CIOs find security; simply an irrelevant case.

#8 Virtulization:

Thinking about virtualization always brings data centers to mind, but Gartner warns that it is the desktop virtualization that we need to watch for. Even though breaking up of systems into smaller chunks is common in virtualization, Gartner cites that in years to come we also might get a chance to see desperate systems being unified into a single unit. This can lead to great danger because only a particular vendor’s vision is highlighted. So to avoid this it’s better that enterprises study and stick to their own virtualization structure.
