#8 Microsoft

At number 8, its the Redwood giant, Microsoft. The PC giant together with its partner Hortonworks, a big data startup generated revenue of $196 million in the year 2012. The company incorporates HDInsights tool based on Hortonworks Data Platform to deliver data requirements.
