At number 8, its the Redwood giant, Microsoft. The PC giant together with its partner Hortonworks, a big data startup generated revenue of $196 million in the year 2012. The company incorporates HDInsights tool based on Hortonworks Data Platform to deliver data requirements.

Head Office: Seattle

Even though Amazon is famous for its enterprise cloud platform, it also brings out a plethora of Big-data products. Elastic MapReduce, DynamoDB big data database, and Redshift are some of their products that suit the best for Amazon Web Services.
