TiE-ISB Connect 2006 event to commence

Hyderabad: TiE-ISB Connect 2006, India’s largest networking event for entrepreneurs, investors and business leaders, will be held from September 20 - 22, 2006 at the ISB Campus in Hyderabad and will feature prominent venture capital firms, business leaders and over 400 participants from around the world. It is jointly organized by The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) and The Wadhwani Centre for Entrepreneurial Development (WCED). TiE- ISB Connect 2006 would have over 40 Venture Capitalists with a combined venture fund of about $5 billion from countries such as the USA, UK, Middle East and India present at the event eyeing strategic and profitable investment opportunities. The discussions would feature entrepreneurial opportunities in industries such as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, internet technologies, technology and IT enabled services. The event would have five new industry tracks – sports and fitness, retail, media and entertainment, infrastructure and real estate, semiconductors. “We are delighted with the interest TiE-ISB Connect 2006 has generated among number of aspiring entrepreneurs, investors and business leaders. This time the scope is much wider,” said J A Chowdary, president, TiE, Hyderabad. “Our focus is to nurture and guide the next generation of business leaders. We aspire to be the hub of all innovative entrepreneurial activity,” said Professor Chandrasekhar, executive director Wadhwani Centre for Entrepreneurship Development at the ISB. He even added that they were looking to create wealth and value for India by promoting entrepreneurship and helping entrepreneurs to build successful businesses. Ramalinga Raju, chairman, Satyam Computer Services, Sanjay Nayar, CEO, Citigroup India, Jayaprakash Narayan, Loksatta and Mr. Jignesh Shah, CEO and managing director of MCX, and CMD of Financial Technologies would participate in a panel discussion on `Taking India Further.’ Some of the other known panelists, speaking at the event are Peter Mukherjea, CEO, Star India; Sanjeev Bikhchandani, CEO and co-founder-naukri.com; Rajiv Gowda, IIM-B and Srini Raju, founder and chairman, iLabs. Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy would inaugurate the event. Union minister of state for Defence M M Pallam Raju would also grace the event.
