Bangalore: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has come under criticism from all sides for the recent price hikes and interest rates, justifiably so considering that he is leading the country, but is he the only one making these decisions? There is a whole team advising and guiding him. So, let us have a look at some of these players. Pranab Mukherjee , Finance Minister:

Mukherjee is a senior member of the Cabinet Committees on Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Parliamentary Affairs, Political Affairs, Prices, Security, Unique Identification Authority of India, and World Trade Organization. He is also a member of the Congress Working Committee, the highest decision-making body of the Indian National Congress. He holds MA degrees in History and Political Science and a degree in law from the University of Calcutta. He has been an advocate and a college teacher in his long public career. Mukherjee began his career as a college-teacher and later as a journalist. Pranab Mukherjee's first stint as the Finance minister of India was during the Indira Gandhi government in 1982. He presented his first annual budget in 1982-83. In the second government of Manmohan Singh, he again became the Finance Minister of India.
