The Worst Security Mishaps of 2012

This was simply astonishing. Right in the middle of a conference call between the FBI and the Scotland Yard, hackers hacked their way into the conversation, recorded it and posted online. A group called Anonymous claimed the credit for the interception.

Verizon acknowledged that their Verizon 4G LTE Network had faced an outage on Feb 22.

Next to face outage was Microsoft’s Azure cloud. On Feb 29th the infrastructure and cloud computing service faced a serious outage due to a “Leap Year Bug” because of an expired certificate and a time calculation mistake.

Taiwan based Apple supply chain, Foxconn faced a hacking spree from a group called Swagg security. According to the cyber criminals, the hack was a sign to their protest against poor working conditions and the health conditions of the employees at the electronics manufacturering factories in China.
