3. Maharashtra:

Maharashtra is the second most populous state of India after Uttar Pradesh and also the third largest state by area. It is the richest state as it contributes 15 percent of the national industrial output and 13.3 percent of its GDP that accounts for 40 percent of the country’s overall national revenue. Maharashtra is also the second largest exporter of software products in India.

Also this highly industrialized state earns revenues from chemical and allied products, electrical and non-electrical machinery, textiles, petroleum and allied products which are the main industrial sectors in the state. It scores high on supplier and sophistication conditions, and variety of firms and innovation.

4. Gujarat:

Gujarat is one of the highly industrialized states of India with a per capita GDP that is above the country’s average. The state is also known as the business capital of the country as it has some of the major business conglomerates.

It has scored well on supplier sophistication, supporting and strategy factors, innovation and communication by employing a technique of innovation-driven economy. Cement and petrol are the top industrial products of the state.
