NEW DELHI: U.S. based communications company, Telenity is all ready to set up an R&D center in India.

With the sudden boom in the telecom sector and the Indian R&D center becoming a hub for global operations, Telenity CEO Dilip Singh said that a Research and Development center would be set up either in New Delhi or in Pune by the end of next year to offer application-based services to consumers." The facility in India would be the company's second R&D center globally, first being in Europe,” he added.

He also maintained that with voice ARPU (average revenue per share) declining worldwide, increasing subscriber base and deploying the right value-added services quickly and efficiently has become the need of the hour to sustain growth.

Currently residing in the national capital, Telenity has plans to expand to the regions of Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune. In effort to beat the rat race to cash in on the value added services market, Telenity is also helping state-owned telecom company BSNL to offer personalized, value-added and location-based services to its mobile network subscribers.

Value-added services contributes to 10 percent of total the services revenue of operators in India; revenues from the sector are growing at an annual rate of 30 percent and are likely to grow at a faster pace.
