Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan has cleared the appointment of N. Radhakrishnan Nair as the new CEO of Technopark, the IT campus on the outskirts of this capital.

"His name has been cleared by the chief minister and he will get the orders in a week's time," said a top government official.

Nair is currently executive director with Toonz Animation and has also served as NIIT vice president.

Technopark last had a full-fledged CEO in 2003. After that, a top official at Technopark held additional charge of CEO.

The Technopark campus has over the years undergone massive infrastructure development and 1.5 million square feet of building space has come up. The 105 IT firms in the complex employ 12,500 people.

In November, another 600,000 square feet of space would be ready. The space has already been fully booked and would offer 6,000 new jobs, said an official.
