Dennis M Ritchie (1941-2011)
UNIX Operating System and C programming Language
Dennis Ritchie was a pioneer of Computer programming. He created C programming language and UNIX OS in the early 70’s. Eight of today's top 10 programming languages are direct descendants of C. He won the Turing award in 1983 and the National Medal of Technology in1999. He died at the age of 70.
Jean Jennings Bartik, (1924-2011) ENIAC
Jean Bartik was a software pioneer. She was the last surviving member of theprogramming team for ENIAC, first general purpose Computer. She served as the lead programmer in the project. Jean died at the age of 86.
