Bangalore: Tata Communications and F-Secure, providers of security as a service through ISPs and mobile operators, have entered into a partnership to offer mobile phone security services in India. Tata Communications will be the first to offer F-Secure's Mobile Security package, which includes virus protection, malware protection and an integrated firewall, to over 50 million smart phone users in India. The Mobile Security provides smartphone users full protection to their handheld devices against mobile threats. The suite supports all major mobile operating system platforms like Windows Mobile, Symbian and UIQ, and delivers real-time, invisible and automated safety with easy to use firewall rule sets and automatic over-the-air antivirus update. The firewall provides additional security for all mobile devices that access public networks like Wi-Fi. "Mobile security must not be an afterthought. We are committed to provide customers with the easiest and the most comprehensive security solution for all devices (PC, Server, and Mobile). We are pleased to be in association with F-Secure to offer mobile security solutions to our subscriber base, suitable for their needs," said Mukul Sood, Vice President, Content and Applications, Tata Communications. "Most mobile phone users are aware that malware can infect a mobile device via Bluetooth, SMS, and MMS or through the internet but fail to have security software installed. Our solution enables smartphone users to enjoy the full potential of their devices without the fear of mobile threats," said Venu Palakirti, Sales Director, India and SAARC Region, F-Secure. Tata Communications is already working with F-Secure to provide solutions for both PC abd server security.
