They are willing to experiment on very-very early stage startups. They are willing to experiment on paper plans. They are willing to take people in with very great team and great domain expertise.
SAIF Partners (Abhimanyu Sanghi) – Talking about what is ‘signalling’, Abhimanyu Sanghi from SAIF explains, “Let’s say when an investor invests in seed stage of a company but doesn’t follow up in Series A, and then this sends a signal to other investors that he is not confident about the company.” SAIF has invested in 30 companies in India out of which 10 are early stage investments. Their early stage Portfolio includes 4 older investments, MakeMyTrip (went IPO), One97, JustDial and HomeShop18 in the time frame of 2005-2009.
