TIBCO posts $71.3 M Q4 revenues

PALO ALTO: TIBCO Software Inc. (Nasdaq: TIBX) has posted revenues of $71.3 million for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2003. This represents a 13 percent increase over $63.3 million it posted in the prior quarter.
License revenues for the fourth quarter were $41.8 million, up 20 percent from the prior quarter, the company announced. Fiscal year 2002 revenues were $273.4 million. Net income for the quarter calculated in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States was $3.4 million or $0.02 per share.
TIBCO posted a pro forma net income for the fourth fiscal quarter of $6.6 million and $14.1 million for the year. TIBCO's pro forma earnings per share on a fully diluted basis were $0.03 for the quarter and $0.06 for the year. Pro forma results exclude stock-based compensation charges, write-off of acquired in-process research and development, amortization of goodwill and acquired intangibles, restructuring charges, and net realized loss on equity investments, and assume a pro forma effective tax rate of 38 percent.

TIBCO added 84 new customers during the quarter and over 400 for fiscal year 2002. TIBCO ended the quarter with 1900 customers. Its new and expanded customer relationships include Agilent, Aventis Pharma, Constellation New Energy, eBay, Eplus Germany, Essent Group, GE Fleet Services, Lockheed Martin, Meridian Health Care Management, Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Network Appliance, Novartis, Osram, Outokumpo Ojl, Procter & Gamble, Qwest, Raytheon, Saab Tech, Siemens Business Services, T-Mobile International, and Toshiba Corporation. TIBCO also continues to work closely with key Systems Integrators and ISVs, such as Accenture, Ariba, AspenTech, CGEY, Deloitte Consulting, HP, PeopleSoft, PTC, Siebel Systems, Teradata, and Yahoo!, among others.
