TCS, BHEL to provide high-tech solutions for power sector

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd on Monday inked with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for providing solutions and to develop innovative technology for the power sector.

NEW DELHI: In a statement, BHEL said the MoU was signed by BHEL's director (HR), Ishan Shanker and TCS' manufacturing practice director, Ravi Gopinath. Broad areas identified for cooperation include asset management, control systems and knowledge-based decision systems for power plants and power plant equipment, it said adding BHEL and TCS will jointly bid for national and global tenders in these and related areas. Some of the initial areas identified for cooperation and joint development include software tools and solutions for proactive maintenance for power plants and development of software products to suit customer's requirement for third-party sales. The products would include EN'RGISE, a dedicated, end-to-end ERP solution for power plants, encompassing activities from fuel management to consumer billing, and FACTORe, a comprehensive functionally rich enterprise asset management and plant maintenance management tool, it said.
