THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala-based SunTec Business Solutions Pvt Ltd has decided to strengthen its presence in the US and the Asia-Pacific region.

K. Nandakumar, CEO of SunTec Business Solutions, said this while addressing the company's second International User Meet that began here Monday.

"Our presence in Europe, India, Middle East and Indonesia will be further strengthened.

"Apart from banking and telecom, SunTec would also offer Transaction Business Management Solutions (TBMS) to the insurance, utilities and retail segments soon."

Among those present were representatives of user groups like Lloyds Bank (Britain), Essent (the Netherlands), Batelco (Bahrain), ICICI (India) and ING Bank (the Netherlands).

"We are also talking to financial institutions, including leading stock exchanges in the country and abroad, for implementing a real time solution for stock markets. SunTec would also increase its headcount from the present 236 to 311 by 2005," said Nandakumar.

Talking to reporters, Ernie Battey, director of Corporate Transaction Services, Lloyds Bank, said: "Compared to conventional solutions, SunTec's TBMS provided a cutting edge solution that required much lesser customisation compared to its competitors.

"Price, perfection and skill are the factors that attract multinational corporates to choose IT solutions from outside."

Ronald Anspach, application manager at Essent Cable Com, the Netherlands, said: "We wanted to ensure that the partner we choose to build the billing application has the capability to make it a success, and it was an extensive selection process.

"We had excellent experiences with SunTec in the past, they understand the business and they have technology and people competence."
