Subrahmaniam named CEO Covansys India

BANGALORE: Covansys Corporation (Nasdaq: CVNS), a global consulting and technology services company, Wednesday announced the promotion of Krishnaswamy "K.S." Subrahmaniam to president and chief executive officer of its wholly owned subsidiary, Covansys (India) Private Limited. Subrahmaniam will report directly to Martin C. Clague, president and CEO of Covansys. Subrahmaniam has been serving as president and chief operating officer of Covansys India since July 2002. He will assume the role of CEO from V.V. Sundaram, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities. Sundaram joined the company in 1993 and has served as chief executive officer of Covansys India since 1996. He was instrumental in positioning Covansys as an industry leader in transparent, offshore outsourcing. Under his leadership, Covansys India grew from 50 to nearly 2,000 employees, and continues to earn global recognition for its high quality IT work and commitment to meeting client technology needs effectively and efficiently. As president and COO of Covansys India, Subrahmaniam managed the company’s highly rated offshore operations, including sales and marketing for the entire Asia-Pacific region. Subrahmaniam led Covansys India to attain SEI CMM Level 5â certification in process maturity, and Level 5 of the People Capability Maturity Model (PCMM). Most recently, under his leadership, Covansys India was awarded the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2000 certificate of approval for its Chennai and Bangalore development centers. He holds an engineering degree in Electrical and Electronics from the College of Engineering Guindy, Madras and a Post Graduate degree in Business Administration.
