Sonata Software Q1 consolidated net jumps 97%

MUMBAI: Sonata Software Ltd has posted a 97.03 per cent increase in the consolidated net profit at Rs 4.32 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, 2004, compared to Rs 2.11 crore in the year-ago period. The Bangalore-based company's revenues for the period under review rose to Rs 78.83 crore from Rs 48.23 crore posted during the same period last fiscal, the company said in a release on Monday. On a stand alone basis, the company's net profit rose to Rs 3.69 crore during the period as against Rs 2.54 crore recorded in the same period of the previous fiscal. Sonata's total revenues rose to Rs 23.81 crore during the year under review, as against Rs 18.72 crore posted in 2003-04, it said. The software major's revenues from domestic sales and services rose by 78 per cent at Rs 49.80 crore in first quarter of 2004-05 compared to Rs 27.96 crore posted during the corresponding quarter a year-ago, it said. On the international front, Sonata posted a 56 per cent increase in revenues from software service exports at Rs 32.42 crore from Rs 20.73 crore posted during Q1 of the previous fiscal, it added.
