SoftPro to shut BPO venture

HYDERABAD: SoftPro Systems Ltd has decided to close down its BPO venture ‘Call World Technologies Ltd’, a senior company official said.
“SoftPro has decided to close its call centre operations as the company is not getting payment from its customers,” A Millakarjun Rao, executive director of SoftPro, told reporters here on Tuesday. The company had invested 
1.7 crore in the joint venture in which it had 26 per cent stake and Frontline Technologies had 74 per cent stake.
“The company will not write-off all total investment as loss since the company has some assets which can be liquidated,” he said. However, Krishna Chand Akkineni, managing director of the company, said that if the company could find good customers the BPO operations would be revived.
