Chennai: Sify.com, a provider of Consumer Internet and Enterprise Services in India with global delivery capabilities, announced today the launch of www.chennailive.in, the first website for the city of Chennai with live video streaming. The website was launched by Dr C Chandramouli, IT Secretary, Tamil Nadu, at a glittering function at The Taj Coromandel Hotel, Chennai.

Chennailive.in is the fourth city portal from Sify.com after the success of mumbailive.in, bangalorelive.in, and hyderabadlive.in. A key feature of www.chennailive.in is live video feeds from traffic web-cams stationed at key junctions of the city so that citizens can plan their routes by checking the site for the prevailing traffic conditions. Users will have access to live video streaming of the traffic in the city at any given point of time.

The site www.chennailive.in will include video sections across categories like information on the latest happenings in the city, gossip & updates on Tamil movies, video reviews of the most happening hot spots in Chennai, hottest deals, reviews of the best known eateries, and much more. Other offerings include city news, news in Tamil, classifieds and directory listings plus city maps.

The grand launch function featured Sunil Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), and film stars from Kollywood, the Tamil film industry, who launched various sections of the website and spoke about places in Chennai closest to their hearts.
