Shivani Govil to host social entrepreneurship at TieCon

Shivani Govil, Director, Corporate Development, Agile Software and A.G. Karunakaran, President and CEO, GDA Technologies Inc. will host a session on social entrepreneurship at TieCon.
The main focus of the session is to introduce the concept of Social Entrepreneurship, highlight case studies and innovative activities that people are engaged in, discuss innovative business models emerging in this area and examine what VCs, social entrepreneurs look at as they invest in this field.
Social entrepreneurial organizations are funded in several waysÂthrough grants and donations, by income earned directly from paying customers, through contracted work for public authorities or through venture capital investments. The lack of proper management skill in founding and running a venture has been the primary reason for failure of most organizations to make a real impact. In the light of these issues the session will consist discussions of different entrepreneurship issues and innovative activities.
The panelists for the session are Suzanne DiBianca, Chief Service Officer and Executive Director, Salesforce.com Foundation, Priya Haji, CEO & Co-founder, World of Good Sandy Hurlimann Herz, Vice President, Marketing and Communications, Skoll Foundation, Balaji Sampath, AID (India) and Premal Shah, President, KIVA.
