Shanghai software park in talks with CMC, Newgen

NEW DELHI: Shanghai Pudong Software Park of China has kickstarted talks with three Indian companies -- CMC, Newgen and Nucleus Software to have their presence in the park. Seven Indian companies including Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Satyam, NIIT and Mphasis are already present in the park and have invested about 15 million dollar, Hu Hongliang, GM, Shanghai Pudong Software Park, said. "Curently, we are in talks with three Indian companies, CMC, Newgen and Nucleus Software, to have their presence in our park", Hu said. "We welcome more Indian companies to join our park, form partnerships with local companies and explore China's growing software market", he added. In 2003, the software park's total turnover reached 484 million dollar with a workforce of more than 7000, he said. Currently, the park has 300 tenant companies like Bearing Point, Citigroup Software Development Centre, Sony (China) Software centre, Kyocera, among others. The park would start the third phase of expansion to be completed by 2007. China's software industry is growing at 30 per cent and business reached 13.32 billion dollar in 2002 and exports stood at 1.5 billion dollar.
