Sensex ends 127 points up, on a volatile day

Mumbai:A key index of the Indian equities markets closed on a high Tuesday amid volatile conditions, ending trade 127.05 points up from its last closing figure. The one year performance chart of Sensex is on the left. The 30-scrip benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, which opened at 14,043.40 points, rose 127.05 points or 0.90 percent to 14,170.45 points. The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also closed 0.87 percent higher at 4,202.15 points. Broader market indices were also in the green, with the BSE midcap index up 1.01 percent and the BSE smallcap index trading 0.2 percent lower.
