Sensex down by 103 points

MUMBAI: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) sensitive index (sensex), which had gained a whopping 777 points since April 28, turned sharply weak and was down by 103.09 points at 12,509.29 during late morning trading on fresh bouts of profit-selling. The 30-share index, after a firm start at 12,631.54, rallied temporarily to a new high of 12,670.11. Thereafter, it plunged to a low of 12,458.71, before being quoted at 12,509.29 at 11.30 a.m, showing a sharp fall of 103.09 over Wednesday's close of 12,612.38. Meanwhile, at the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the S&P CNX Nifty opened a shade higher at 3755.80 and after moving in a range of 3774.55 and 3699.45, was quoted at 3719.90, showing a sharp setback of 34.35 points over the previous close of 3754.25.
