KOLKATA: Satyam Computer Services expects a significant jump in their revenues from IT enabled services (ITES) in the near future as result of some initiatives it intends to take in the days ahead. The company plans to leverage on the growth likely to be recorded by the Indian IT industry, said B Rama Raju, Managing Director, while referring to growth estimates put out by the National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom). Raju said, “Huge number of knowledge workers will be required to spur this expansion, a sizeable part of which will be logged on the export front as well. The company, which clocked 36 percent increase in income from software services last year, hopes to speed up its own growth plans during this financial year.” The company laid the foundation stone of a technology center at Salt Lake Electronics Complex in Kolkata. The company plans to employ about 2,000 IT professionals here. A number of other corporate groups - Wipro and Reliance included - have recently sought to step up their presence in the State. Facilities at Salt Lake currently engage roughly 40,000 professionals. A couple of other IT hubs have been proposed in West Bengal.
