Satyam sets up offshore centre in Chennai

NEW DELHI: Satyam Computer Services Ltd., one of India's leading software development and services majors, Monday announced the launch of its offshore solutions centre in Chennai.

The new centre will cater to the IT service requirements of U.S.-based TRW Automotive, one of Satyam's largest customers, said a company statement issued here.

TRW Automotive is a world leader in automotive safety, developing and producing the industry's widest variety of systems.

"I am confident that both TRW Automotive and Satyam will derive substantial benefit from the new offshore solution centre," said Keshab Panda, senior vice president of Satyam Computer Services.

The centre will offer services in key areas such as process consulting, business process re-engineering, application management, quality consulting and IT services.

"The centre is an important step in furthering our relationship, and it will deliver significant value to TRW Automotive," said Joe Drouin, vice president and chief technology officer of TRW Automotive.

Said Manish Mehta, senior vice president and head of the automotive business unit of Satyam Computer: "With our knowledge of the automotive domain, we are confident of delivering greater value to TRW Automotive".
