Kolkata: The State Bank of India (SBI) will send a team of experts to probe the disappearance of 1.4 million from its two ATMs in West Bengal's Malda district, a police official said Monday. "The SBI is to get a team of software experts from Kolkata to find out how the money disappeared from the two ATMs in Englishbazar area," district police Superintendent Satyajit Bandopadhyay told IANS by phone. After futile attempts by an expert team to solve the puzzle, the SBI officials Sunday lodged a complaint at the Englishbazar police station about 1.1 million missing from one ATM and 300,000 from another. "The local team of experts, who checked the machines earlier, are not very conversant about the SBI locking code. Hence they could not reveal how the money disappeared or who took the cash," Bandopadhyay said. "We hope the experts from Kolkata will be able to solve the puzzle. Besides, we too are trying our best. But it will need some time to solve this mystery," he said.
