Reliance Q4 profit jumps as product prices rise

MUMBAI: Reliance Industries has reported a 26% increase in net profit at Rs 5,160 crore for the year ended March 31, 2004 as against Rs 4,104 crore in FY03.
Total income moved up to Rs 52,940 crore from Rs 46,899 crore in the previous fiscal, according to a release issued to the BSE today.
The company posted a 29% rise in net profit at Rs 1,419 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2004 as against a net profit of Rs 1,101 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2003. Total income increased from Rs 13,081 crore in MQ03 to Rs 14,585 crore in MQ04, the release said.
The group has posted a net profit (after adjustment for minority interest) of Rs 5,169 crore for the year ended March 31, 2004 as against a net profit of Rs 4,003 crore in FY03. Total income moved up to Rs 53,183 crore from Rs 46,796 crore in FY03.
The board has recommended a dividend of Rs 5.25 per fully paid up share of Rs 10/- each.
