Raritan bags green enterprise IT award

Gurgaon: Uptime institute declared Raritan as the winner of the prestigious 2010 Green IT Enterprise (GEIT). The GEIT rewards organizations which offer technology that can minimize energy consumption. Such companies have made progress in their energy efficiency in IT and data center operations. The Raritan solution gives important inputs on the use of data center power.

Raritan bagged the "Outstanding IT Product" category for its Power IQ Energy Management Software and PX intelligent power distribution units (iPDUs) with plug-and-play environment sensors. Winners were announced at the Uptime Institute Symposium in New York City.

A green data center based on data center energy efficiency standards created by J.R. Simplot includes increasing the rack density and shifting it from 120 to 240 volts AC for greater power efficiency and to provide more power to the racks. It provides J.R.Simplot with a considerable amount of vital capabilities which includes power monitoring of individual, the ability to produce sophisticated power usage which are organized by the department and are provided to firms’ dedicated environmental staff.

Raritan's energy management solution provided J.R. Simplot with a number of key capabilities including: power monitoring of individual IT devices, environmental monitoring, the ability to generate sophisticated and accurate power usage reports, and advanced analytics. Reports, which can be organized by department, equipment type or location, are regularly provided to the firm's dedicated environmental staff and show that the data center team is doing its part to support the corporate Green initiative.
