RMI launches India operations

BANGALORE: Veteran Silicon Valley entrepreneur Atiq Raza launched RMI Technologies India Pvt Ltd. The company plans to hire about 40 people in the next year. RMI designs, develops and sells a portfolio of silicon solutions that enable the convergence of networking and computing system designs. RMI also announced the new XLR family of thread processors and the Orion family of intelligent Access Processors. The Chairman and CEO, Raza, said the Bangalore team would contribute significantly to the company's expanding global presence and enable the company to offer scalable and cost-effective intelligent access to the network. RMI's goal is to accelerate the transformation of information infrastructure by rapidly developing and delivering the next generation of semiconductor solutions in the markets that matter the most, Raza said. The company's India operations are aimed at harnessing creativity and technical expertise to deliver high quality silicon, software and systems solutions for information infrastructure, said Govind Malalur, VP, Raza Microelectronics.
