New Delhi: An apex body of private airlines today approached the Delhi High Court seeking quashing of the new ground-handling policy which allegedly prohibited them from undertaking the exercise by themselves. The policy is to be implemented from Janury next year and the ground handling services would be undertaken by agencies selected by airport operators. A division bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justice Manmohan today declined to pass any order and fixed December 15 for hearing of the petition. Filing a petition, Federation of Indian Airlines claimed that they themselves could efficiently manage the ground-handling services for their own aircraft, which they are doing now, and sought the court to declare the government's new policy as null and void as it would hamper their business interest.
