Patton Electronics sets up JV with Chennai firm

Chennai: The U.S. based voice and data communication product manufacturer Patton Electronics has partnered with the Chennai based Microsense to set up a distribution joint venture in India, said a top company official Tuesday. As per the deal, the Chennai based Microsense involved in electronic product distribution, software development and wireless internet access hived off its distribution business along with its assets and people as a separate business into which Patton's investment arm based in Swiss Patton Inalp Holdings have invested an undisclosed sum to form Patton Electronics India Pvt Limited (Patton India). "We couldn't resist expanding in India," said Burton A. Patton, executive vice president and acting president of Patton India. He said Patton India will leverage local technical talent and deep relationships with industry peers to deliver seamlessly integrated solutions for carriers, service providers and enterprises across India. According to S. Kailasanathan, chairman of the board of directors, Patton India will be engaged in local hardware development, software development and manufacturing in order to enable the delivery of end to end solutions.
