BANGALORE: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will inaugurate the new Infosys Technologies campus in Mysore on Feb 12.

Disclosing this here, Infosys chairman and chief mentor N.R. Narayana Murthy said the Mysore campus, spread over 300 acres of land, was the company's largest facility in the country.

"The Mysore campus houses the world's largest corporate training centre, our leadership institute and a software development centre. The Prime Minister has consented to inaugurate it on Feb 12," he said Thursday after meeting Karnataka Chief Minister Dharam Singh.

Murthy and Infosys CEO Nandan M. Nilekani invited Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Industries Minister P.G.R. Sindhia for the inaugural event.

During the meeting with Singh, Sindhia and State Cooperation minister R.V. Deshpande, Murthy and Nilekani also discussed the infrastructure problems dogging Bangalore.

Expressing satisfaction over the clearance of the Bangalore international airport by the state government this week, Murthy said he was confident the various infrastructure projects underway would be completed in a time-bound manner to facilitate the city's growth.

"I am glad the Karnataka government has approved the airport project. I am also happy with other initiatives of the government, such as the high-tech city, in and around Bangalore to ease the problems faced by citizens," he said.

Murthy said if the infrastructure does not improve, Bangalore would be in the same situation as Kolkata was in the 1970s.

"We discussed the city's infrastructure in detail with Murthy and Nilekani. We have also decided to revive the Bangalore Agenda Task Force and engage its services for the orderly growth of the high-tech city," Singh said.
