PC sales to touch 5.2 M mark during 05-06

NEW DELHI:The sale of personal computers is expected to touch 5.2 million, valued at 119 billion ($2.78 billon) during the current financial year. The sale of PCs was estimated to be 4 million during 2004-05, representing a growth of 31.8 percent over 2003-04, Minister of Information and Technology Shakeel Ahmad said. The Minister said the figure of 22,93,643 personal computers valued at Rs 6.2 billion ($1.28 billion) during 2002-03 rose to 22,93,643 valued at Rs 6.9 billion ($1.5 billion) during 2003-04.
