Wakefield: Dr. Clifford A. King cofounded NoblePeak Vision, whose technology is transforming the night vision market, announced that it has raised $12.0 million in Series B equity financing. The Series B round was led by Chart Venture Partners, a new NoblePeak investor. NoblePeak's original investors, Matrix Partners and Northbridge Venture Partners, also fully participated in the round. The Series B funding will provide growth capital as the company launches it's new, TriWave night vision technology into key commercial, government and military markets. The company is currently taking orders for its high-resolution NPV700 evaluation camera platform and developing a camera core product that will be supplied to camera OEM partners in the third quarter of 2008. "Our Series B round was oversubscribed," said Mike Decelle, President and CEO of NoblePeak. "This infusion of capital enables us to add key hires to our camera core design, development and manufacturing teams, plus build out our business development and customer support organizations. Our decision to work with Chart was strategic and based on their deep experience and relationships within the government and military markets." "Our team at Chart is well aware of the limitations of existing technologies and we understand the need for night vision solutions that provide world-class night image quality but at a price point that enables broad deployment in the commercial and military/government markets. We believe NoblePeak has the answer to this need," said Cole Van Nice, partner at Chart Venture Partners. NoblePeak Vision provides imaging products that are sensitive over the visible to short-wave infrared (SWIR) spectrum and which enable breakthrough night vision performance with applications in the commercial security, transportation, and defense markets. Founded in 2002, NoblePeak Vision is a private company headquartered in Wakefield, Massachusetts.
