Nipuna targets overseas call centers, to increase head count

HYDERABAD: Nipuna Services Ltd, the BPO arm of Satyam Computer Services Ltd will start overseas centers in Malaysia and at Dalian in China to tap the potential in new markets. Nipuna CEO Roddam Venkatesh, said, "Though the company was formed with an idea to provide end-to-end services to various Satyam clients, we do have a mandate to tap new areas and customers independently, which could possibly become Satyam client's later." "Nipuna is set to aggressively expand its role in knowledge process outsourcing (KPO), which is the next level of evolution of process outsourcing. This will be by leveraging the capabilities of Satyam and Nipuna together. Apart from this we have forayed into animation services, and have acquired two clients," he said. The Nipuna team company is developing the artwork services for GlaxoSmithKline, which will display all details related to drug discovery by the British company. B. Ramalinga Raju, Chairman of Satyam Computer Services said that the company had become the first BPO to achieve eSCM Level 4 certification. Nipuna will grow by 80 percent this year and achieve cash break even in the second quarter of fiscal 2006. The company will also increase its headcount to 2500-3000 from the present 1000 people based in Bangalore and Hyderabad, Raju said.
