Nifty touches all time high

Mumbai:The broad-based 50-share index of the National Stock Exchange Nifty touched an all-time high of 4,295.60 points Monday morning on heavy purchases of heavyweight stocks by domestic and foreign funds. Within 10 minutes into trading, the index that represents 22 industries scaled to the new peak, before dropping slightly to 4,282.80 points at around 11 a.m. to register a gain of 0.82 percent over the previous day's close. The benchmark 30-share sensitive index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) also opened higher and was trading 14,512.20 points to make a gain of 173.75 points, or 1.21 percent, over the previous day's close.
