New roster management system for hospitals from i-Vista

BANGALORE: i-Vista Digital Solutions Ltd, one of the leading providers of solutions in the online applications space today announced the launch of a new and unique product that addresses one of the most frustrating tasks of larger hospitals – scheduling. Called, “Who’s on call?” the solution is scheduling productivity tool that creates, displays and manages the changes to roster schedules of a hospital’s various departments. The system is scalable and can be used for all the departments and by all the personnel including non-physicians. An added advantage of the solution is that it is web and intranet enabled and can be accessed remotely. Commenting on the new solution developed in-house by i-Vista, Narayan, CEO, i-Vista Digital Solutions, said, “The new packaged solution launched by us is a compact and scaleable application that fully addresses one of the pain points for many of the larger hospitals in India. Already, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and other mid sized group practices in the US, have successfully used the product and in the coming year we intend to sign-up more.” Core to the “Who’s on call?” solution is a scheduling engine which assigns calls to the providers (physicians) using predefined shift timings, selects date and time based upon a easy-to-use date and time picker. This scheduler automatically notifies the provider and the respective department administrator by e-mail about the changes or non-availability. Shifts can be created for everyday or multiple days. Some of the highlights of the product included the ability to manage personal calendars, view audit trails, and maintain of general activities like conferences, holidays among others. To safeguard misuse and wrong assignment, the solution has business rules of the system which protect it from the same. Users are also allowed the flexibility to “cover” each other’s calls making it easier to change and update the roster sheets interactively.
