New Jersey: The official residence of the New Jersey governor was visited by a group of Indian-Americans who were invited there for a holiday tour, reports Desi Talk. The historic site where the mansion in Princeton lies was decorated for the holidays. Gov. Chris Christie did not feature in the function as she does not live at the mansion at present. About 30-40 Indian-Americans joined the holiday tour and Christmas celebration at the governor's invitation, according to Dr. Mukesh Roy of Scotch Plains, N.J. Dr. Sudhir Parikh, publisher of Desi Talk, and his wife, Dr. Sudha Parikh, also attended. Guests got to see various rooms in the historic home and enjoy the back gardens where a tent had been put up with light refreshments. "Governor and First Lady Christie opened Drumthwacket for a holiday tour for guests as part of their ongoing effort to encourage residents to see the historic site located in Princeton," Sean Conner, deputy press secretary, told by e-mail. "The holiday tours have showcased various rooms of the mansion decorated by garden clubs throughout the state. The events have displayed a great sense of the pride so many New Jerseyans have in our state."
