BANGALORE: Nasdaq listed enterprise data storage equipment maker Network Appliance (NetApp) plans to double headcount at its Bangalore Technology Center (BTC) to 300 in the next one year, a senior company executive said today.

"We are planning to double the headcount from the present 148 in the next one year, NetApps India Technology Operations President Shekar Nair, who oversees the NetApp engineering and customer support operations, said.

The BTC is a multi-functional operation encompassing the first NetApp R & D center outside of the U.S., and a global support center servicing the needs of its enterprise customers worldwide.

The company is slated to move to a new facility here later this year, and has committed an investment in the region of Rs 75 crore to Rs 80 crore. Initially, it would occupy two floors (1.2 lakh square facility which can accommodate 660 people) of the five-storeyed building, officials said.

"BTC is engaged in critical R & D work for NetApp", Nair said.
