National Instruments unveils website for Planet NI initiative

Bangalore: In order to increase the presence of its non-profit initiative in India, National Instruments (NI), a graphical system design provider announced the launch of PlanetNI.in, the official website of Planet NI foundation. According to the company, the website will address the needs of education institutes and small and medium enterprise entrepreneurs by providing access to technology at an affordable cost for enabling current and future engineers to achieve economic prosperity. "This website is launched to serve as a platform for people to share ideas and knowledge which would help to grow the Planet NI Foundation in India," says Jayaram Pillai, Managing Director, India, Arabia and Russia, National Instruments. It is a forum which will serve the three initiatives STEM, SME and Green Engineering that constitute Planet NI. STEM Education is an ongoing initiative adopted by the company to improve the quality of engineering education in the country. The Program strives to enhance learning in engineering colleges through experiential learning by collaborating with organizations working in this area. Some of the programs in this framework include Professor Internships, Centers of Excellence, Student Training and Certification and Train the Trainer Program. NI SME Benefit Program addresses factors affecting the technology adoption among the SMEs by providing increased affordability and flexible pricing for NI Technology and easy access to NI Training and Support. The SME Benefit Program is a unique approach to help the SMEs in India to achieve economic prosperity through access to technology. The latest addition is Green Engineering, which is a program in this program NI helps and educates companies to design and develop eco-friendly products. Victor Meires, Vice President - Sales, Asia said, "In just one year, we are glad to see such overwhelming response from entrepreneurs across India. Keeping this in mind, we have launched the website for improving the quality of education, supporting small and medium entrepreneurship and supporting a greener planet for long term sustainability. Through the Planet NI Foundation, we have already empowered 110 SME's in the last one year and plan to spread the message to many more."
