Bangalore: The new point based system (PBS), which is introduced as a criterion for intra-company transfers and work permits in U.K., has found Nasscom's full support. Thus, anyone opting for U.K. for an intra-company transfer (ICT) shall have to prove their potentiality as per the point based system. Thus, this introduction is a measure to bullish the British economy through inclusion of the right skilled persons within it. "The new PBS system will transform the immigration process and operationally make it more efficient, in addition to simplifying this for companies. The UK Home office's PBS is applicable to all companies who employ workers in the UK," Nasscom said in a statement. Infact, the organization have advised its members to priortise their registration into this new system. Nasscom has always given a hand, as a part of the 'Global Trade Development' initiative, to upgrade the immigration policies in the country and this system is an adequate attempt for fulfilling those efforts. However, the time factor makes it a critical move as the applications will have to be filed by October 1st, 2008 and the system will come into effect by November 24th, 2008, as per the U.K. Home office's announcement.
