Bangalore: Mozilla has launched the Alpha version of its mobile browser Fennec for Android devices and the Nokia N900. The browser offers add-ons, and is quicker and more responsive, thanks to technologies called Electrolysis and Layers. The Electrolysis technology allows the browser interface to run in a separate process from the web rendering one. The Beta version will make use of Layers to improve performance in graphic-intensive actions like scrolling, zooming, animations and video. The Fennec Alpha uses the same rendering code as Firefox for desktop systems. The Firefox Sync incorporated in the Fennec shares Awesome Bar browsing history, bookmarks, passwords, form-fill data and open tabs between desktop and mobile devices.
