Bangalore: The brand new Motorola Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet, Xoom was launched in February, 2011. On its launch day it sold about 25,000 tablets and never went beyond that. The tablet was expected to reach a target of 1, 00, 000- 1, 20, 000 tablets. Trip Chowdhry who took care of the sales and marketing of Motorola Xoom said that failure of the tablet was because of poor marketing and the pace at which the Xoom tablets are sold, as compared to the marketing of the BlackBerry, Samsung, LG. According to experts, Honeycomb which is the operating system of Xoom is considered to be incomplete, unstable and has a poor UI. In tablets, Motorola is always trying to match up to the standards of Apple and Research In Motion (RIM).
