2. Azim Premji

Wipro

After Premji completed his MBA from Stanford University in 1960, he joined Wipro and from then on he has built the company tremendously. A company which previously dealt with hydrogenated cooking oils turned its focus from soaps to an IT firm after the company was controlled by Premji. Today the company’s annual returns are more than $12.2 billion with services in IT, BPO and R&D in more than 54 countries worldwide.

3. Ratan Tata
Company: Tata Group


Ratan Tata served as the chairman of Tata group from 1991 to 2012. Though he resigned recently from his post making Cyrus Mistry as his successor, Tata still continues to serve as the chairman of the company’s charitable trust.

Previously he began his career in 1962 as a worker at Tata steel where he dug limestone and handled the blast furnace. After JRD resigned as a chairman in 1991, he announced Ratan as his successor. 

Under his leadership there were many successful sectors like Tata Tetley, Tata cars like Jaguar Land Rover and Tata Steel’s Corus that were started. The company’s annual revenue as of 2012 was U.S. $100 billion.
