Microsoft's Ballmer calls on Manmohan

NEW DELHI: Microsoft chief executive Steve Ballmer Tuesday called on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and apprised him of his company's investment plans in India. The Prime Minister's Office described the meeting as a courtesy call. Manmohan Singh welcomed Microsoft investments in the country. On Monday, Microsoft opened its sprawling campus in Hyderabad, marking one step forward in the company's commitment to invest $400 million in India over three years. Microsoft chief Bill Gates had announced this in 2002.
