MetricStream's Chairman Gunjan Sinha Named

Bangalore: Gunjan Sinha, Executive Chairman of Bangalore based MetricStream, the market leader in enterprise-wide Governance, Risk, Compliance (GRC) and Quality Management solutions, has been recognized as one of the premier Asian American business executives in the United States by the Asian American Business Development Center (AABDC), which included Sinha on its 2007 “Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award” list. The AABDC presents its annual "Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award" to recognize individuals who have built successful businesses or who have distinguished themselves in their communities. Serving as the Executive Chairman as MetricStream since 2004, Sinha is dedicated to enabling businesses to ensure compliance with government regulations through innovative technology and community driven solutions. Under his leadership, MetricStream has emerged as the market leader in solutions for Governance, Risk, Compliance (GRC) and Quality Management. Sinha was honoured at an award ceremony on June 22 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, New York. Labor Secretary Elaine L. Chao addressed the winners as the featured keynote speaker. "I'm honored to receive this award and be included with my fellow winners," said Sinha. "To me, being successful in business depends on your ability to find new ways to help customers and contribute to the society. I feel fortunate to have the support of my advisors, peers and team members in helping create successful businesses and social ventures." With over 18 years in various entrepreneurial, board and executive positions Sinha has helped build several successful businesses. As an Internet pioneer in 1995, he was the co-founder and President of WhoWhere?, a leading Internet directory services company, which grew to be the 12th most visited site on the web. WhoWhere? was acquired by Lycos. Building on the WhoWhere? experience, Sinha co-founded eGain where he was the founding President and helped the company grow to become one of the leading online customer service companies. Earlier in his career, Sinha also co-founded Viman Software, a network license management company, and Parsec Technologies, an international call center company based in India. Sinha serves on the board of several venture-backed technology companies in India and the US including Regalix, TBD Networks and SiliconIndia. His passion and support of entrepreneurship has inspired creation of over couple of dozen other ventures across India and the US. Over his entrepreneurial career, Sinha has also helped build successful social ventures. Since year 2001, he has served on the Board and worked actively to build CFHI (Child Family Health International) into a leading global organization for providing quality healthcare to the most underdeveloped parts of the world. He obtained his BS and MS degrees in computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, and UC Santa Cruz, respectively. He also holds an MS in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management from Stanford University. Established in 1994, the Asian American Business Development Center is a not for profit organization that assists Asian American business executives to increase their capabilities in order to better compete in the mainstream market. Each year, AABDC recognizes the individual accomplishment of Asian Americans in business and industry and, in doing so, carries out its mission of enhancing the Asian American voice and role in public policy.
