It is common myth that cracking knuckles will result in arthritis. But actually the sound you hear is that of a bubble bursting, which is formed when the bones move apart. If you continuously crack your knuckles over a long period of time, you finger joints may weaken. But it hasn’t got anything to do with arthritis.
