Fact #2: Big Mac was replaced by Maharaja Mac in India

‘Big Mac,’ which was one of the company’s signature products containing two beef patties, American cheese, special sauce, iceberg lettuce, pickles and onions, has lost its signature ingredients when it was made Maharaja Mac in India. Initially when Big Mac was made Maharaja Mac, it was made with lamb instead of beef but along with the time it is now made from chicken patties. So, now the Indian version of Big Mac contains two chicken patties garnished with onions, cheese, tomatoes and spicy mayonnaise to suit the Indian taste buds.

Fact #3: McDonald’s planning to go completely meatless in their 57-years history

In India, where the majority population follows Hindu religion, still feels that containing beef is a taboo. So, to increase the market growth in India, McDonald’s is planning to open vegetarian-only restaurants by mid 2013, according to the AFP. Burgers that are being served in Indian McDonald’s outlets are 100 percent vegetarian-instead of patties made out of beef and pork; you can find potatoes, peas and carrots topped with Indian spices. However, to attract the vegetarian food lovers, McDonald’s has included McVeggie, McAloo Tikki, Paneer Salsa Wrap and Pizza McPuff in their menu.
