MUMBAI: Bajaj Auto marketing chief R L Ravichandran, the brain behind the transformation of the company to become the second biggest motorcycle maker, has put in his papers to take up an assignment abroad. "The decision was purely out of compulsion for higher learning," Ravichandran, said. Ravichandran, who joined Bajaj Auto about five-and-a-half years back, is credited with the company's successful transition from a traditional scooter maker to the second-biggest motorcycle manufacturer. "My stay at Bajaj Auto was very satisfactory, especially in playing a crucial role in realignment of product mix and transformation from a leading scooter maker to a formidable motorcycle manufacturer," he said. He maintained that his relations with the Bajajs were "cordial".
